It should still be around - last time I checked it was in a 40 gallon tank with a bunch of clown plecos and some Syno angelicus on the metal stand near the indoor pond. The tank has been sick recently ( the angelicus have been mysteriously dying - but the plecos look ok) so you might want to wait on...

Shouldn't be a problem if the tank is large enough (20 gallon +) and I doubt that they would interbreed. However, they do occupy the same tank area and have similar habits... the addition of a second apisto species may discourage breeding.

The Genus Gymnogeophagus sounds perfect for you. In general, they are smaller than other eartheaters, and their breeding strategies reduce the chance of a pair getting over excited and killing off tankmates. I bred Gymnogeophagus balzani in a thirty gallon tank with a school of harlequin rasboras an...

I'd like to, they're awesome looking, but will require a substrate change. They would be most at home with a finer substrate... like the number 0, 1, or 2 quartz gravel we sell at the factory. However, the species has not been burrying itself at the store and I wonder if they might not be equally h...

You should try them out... I picked up two related fish a few months ago - Pseudohemiodon apithanos - and they have quickly become one of my all time favorite fish. The Pseudohemiodons, like the Planiloricaria, are sand dwelling loracids, they spend all day walking around on their pelvic fins and bu...

If it would be alright, can I share the URL of your video with a general aquaria forum? I am sure there are lots of people out there that would love to see that! Sure you can share the URL. The only reason I want to try and restrict the videos use is because I still have some hope in publishing a p...

I am what you might call a trygonophile. I just can't get enough of Freshwater Stingrays. Over the years Ned has brought in a number of great, and often surprisingly hardy species. These have mostly included the spotted rays of the species leopoldi, henlei, and motoro, although we occasionally get ...
