A good mix:

Panda
Metae
Green Aeneus
Albino Aeneus
Axelrodi
Trilineatus
Julii or similar
Schwartzi or similar

and others.
might give them a few days to feed up.

Thanks Philip G One of the world's best sources for African Cichlids, which are great home aquarium fish (almost as colorful and varied as saltwater fish, but they live in freshwater and can be very hardy and adaptable). Ned and the crew are real experts and will give you honest unbiased advice. My...

Hi All, I'm posting these recent reviews because I'm proud of them. They are online reviews from google, yelp, citisearch, etc etc. And I couldn't be happier with them - I'm so glad that people are still getting from this store exactly what I did thirteen years ago when I first walked in the door a...

Huzzah!
Eighty little fish are now swimming around my rearing tank. Already eating flake and frozen.

I finally broke down and stripped the fry from the female at 21 days. She was getting too thin and I wanted to start feeding her up for the next batch.

More info to come... hopefully.

Huge wad of eyeballs filling her mouth and gills.

Fingers crossed.

We have two tank-fulls of this more-or-less unknown species. A very strange tetra with large red spots, rainbow fins, and a no-nonsense attitude. $6 bucks each. Can't say much more about them... because thats all we - or anybody - knows. A great fish to figure out... and maybe breed?... for future h...

My initial plan (before I ended up with all males) was to keep one male and two females in a 33 long with dividers. Male in the middle section, females to the sides. I was going to feed them up and grow them for a long time separately - making sure the females were very fat and healthy - and then tr...

My female Geo. pellegrini has been incubating young for a full 15 days now. ! Not sure if she is ever planning to spit them out.

The anticipation is killing me!

I wonder how much those aberrant Yellow Tangs go for...

Can that really be a self sustaining system? With the number of fish. And with large triggers in the mix?

Last night I fed my 8-inch Geophagus pellegrini a load of four frozen mosquito larvae cubes. In his usual fashion, he took all four cubes into his enormous mouth and started working on them (I'm always a bit worried he might get a brain freeze!). As I watched him eat, all five of my new Orinocodoras...
