Best I could do. They are quite nice.
And they live more than 2-4 years as one author suggests. Going on (or a little past) 6 for this one.

This might be a bit too nerdy even for this forum, and yet... Bought about 3 dozens H. Rhodostomus 5 years ago with 3 mystery fish coming for the ride. Most are still doing fine (perhaps as a result of years of calorie restriction due to the intimidating presence of large discus, who are now defunct...

Ned sold me some black emperors perhaps 6 or 7 years ago (2m, 4f), haven't seen them since, but they bred in my tank and I still have about a dozen of them. Very handsome fish. Sometimes referred to as N. Amphiloxus, its colors (or lack thereof) are very different from the others, and I always wonde...

Ned,
I'd be most grateful if you could hold at least 8 for me. I'll be there first thing on Saturday.
Thank you.

Hi Ned,
Do you still have those Habrosus? I'd love to get my hands on them.

From the lack of response I take it not too many people bother trying. Yes, in my experience valisneria, sagitaria, but also crypts do ok. Egeria Densa also does particularly well. Unfortunately I've never found the right balance where the plants outcompete the algae (hair, brush, but also cyanobact...

Hey,

I was just wondering if anybody has ever had any luck with establishing plants (and what plants) in pure aragonite, pH greater than 8, KH greater than 10, no CO2 injection (forget about why anybody would want to do this...).

Erythromycin worked within a week, with a just a small white spot left. A second course of treatment did not get rid of the remaining dot. The fish has been back in the main tank for about 4 weeks, he's fine, no change, doesn't seem too perturbed, maybe it's just a permanent scar.

Thank you Ned. You have a specific reason for recommending erythromicin, rather than, say, tetracycline or minocycline, or that's just what you have experience with? Just curious, i don't mean to question your wisdom...

Hi there, I found this fish with a cloudy eye in the morning, which makes me suspect injury rather than an infection (he was fine, and then he wasn't). This is the best picture I could take, not great, but it does look pretty much like this in real: http://www.flickr.com/photos/15535746@N02/16627016...

Hello, We have recently had a neon dying of what we suspect to be internal worm infestation (belly swelling gradually to the point of bursting open). First of all I'd be interested to hear if anybody has any comment on the diagnostic. The fish was removed and euthanized. Now two days later we have s...
