I have a bunch of Tanganyikan cichlids I plan to move from my 55 gallon to a 90 gallon tank. Only problem is, my lamprologus multifaciatus had several sets of babies. About a dozen have grown large enough that I could probably catch them with an amount of effort. For the small fry what would you sug...

I've set up my tank and am letting it run to get it ready for some tanganyikans but my lace rock has developed this kinda gel like growth on it. I'd say algae, because I've been leaving the tank lights on about 12-14 hours a day with no fish in there to try to get some algae buildup, but it's not co...

haha ... or i could make my own with a jar and some cotton swabs and save a lot of money. I'm trying to get my girlfriend to come with me tonight into the store and I'll talk to you about the eheims. Might as well do it right the first time. It'll save me money instead of having to buy one after ano...

Out of curiosity, what's bad about the Rena filters? I've heard of groups that swear by them. I'll most likely be in this weekend.

I am planning on converting my community tank into a Tanganyikan cichlid set up. I would like to do some shelldwellers, like lamprologus, along with the rocks and cave dwellers, like the Julis, and maybe an enantiopus. I currently have 30 lbs of Aragamax Select for the substrate. My tank is 55 gallo...

The place was really sketchy. I stopped by in there a few times ... very unclean and the reptiles, for the most part were crowded in dirty cages. The fish tanks weren't cleaned well. The whole ordeal seems odd. To burn down a pet store, kill the animals inside, and write "stop exploitation of a...

Paintball uses a different type of CO2 tank, you'd need to get a different type of regulator to attach it. Red Sea makes one. Someone else probably knows where to get an adapter for a regulator to fit these smaller CO2 tanks.

I really like the plant, so I'm gonna take some clippings and let the thing grow. I'll bring you in a bunch when and if I'm successful with it.

Just on a side note and out of curiousity, isn't that "green spot algae" actually just a product of our hard water? I've heard it's not seen in nature and it's actually more mineral than it is true algae. Is that so?

about 2-3 years ago, when I didn't know any better, I put some plants in my tank with silver dollars in it. I didn't realize the science or the art behind the planted tank. My silver dollars got about 20 bucks worth of a salad. They must have really enjoyed it as they ate every bit of plant in that ...

You can buy tanks and get them refilled at Linde gas in Billerica.
