I have to say: Last year, I was not impressed. This was poorly run and it lasted FOREVER since half the stuff auctioned was not fish related. I did get a couple bags of cool fish, but I also was not allowed to get the money for the fish i sold since it was so slow in processing the items sold. Howev...

That max size means it is certainly not a Cherax, as they get HUGE.

Sexing crays is really easy.

You grab the crayfish by the back, lift it up turn it upside down and pull the tail flat. The last set of legs, in a male will have sperm ducts going diagonally down from them, and in female these will be absent. You can probably find a pic online.

All the blue crays you get here are Alleni with very few exceptions.

If you need an ID on a crayfish talk to Glenn, GWCHAT on aquabid, he lives aroung the area nd he knows a helluva lot about all freshwater inverts.

It's messy though. I got it as a crushed form, and used it the same dosage that was prescribed by fishmommy. It worked like a charm though, no more camallanus in any of the fish and some apistos survived and even bred just a few weeks after.

If any of you get National Geographic, about two or three months ago there was an article on the convict blenny, which is what I believe it is. The article was rather wild, as in nature they are a wierd fish, the article is a good read.

Does anyone know when the BAS auction will be? I heard it was october/november but unsure of the date and specifics. I could not find it on their website and I figured someone on this site might know.

UPDATE:

What I used to consider a difficult fish to breed has now become easy. I hatched out about 80-100 in the last week. They grow really fast and can be back with parents in about a month.

I know adult fish can go without food for the three days I will be gone, but can babies?

The babies are cacatuoides triple red, and some killis.

I acquired 11 of these fish through the BAP in June. They were placed in a ten-gallon tank, already cycled and with a lone bristle-nose catfish as its occupant. The tank did not have a heater, but the temperature never dropped much below 70. The surface of the water was covered in duckweed, which se...
