naw, I just keep him extremely well fed on fresh veggies and raw shrimp. If I miss a day feeding he rasps my sword plants. No biggie.

Hi Ned and crew.
My conversion from Africans to planted community for my 180 was a success thanks to you and your great selection of fishes.
That giant pleco I got is my favorite fish and he will have a forever home with me.
Will follow up with pics....just gotta go shrink my files a bit. BRB

interesting - I didn't know anything about them.
They're in my 'big mix of everything' tank so their lineage don't matter a whit. ;-)

I think that is what these are....they grew out nice after I snagged them as tiny babies last year from a local pet store I have 3M/2F, and they are all full grown now, the males reaching nearly 6 inches or thereabouts. http://i.ugtz.com/albums/Lake-Malawi-Fish/ob.sized.jpg http://i.ugtz.com/albums/...

Every single fish I got from you Sunday is doing great! Interestingly, I initially threw the multipuncts in my big tank and for the very first time my Champsochromis decided a small fish was worth trying to eat. Must be how they swim (very slow and more wiggly than vic fry) that attracted him. Anywa...

intrigued....
do you think the smaller ones would eat my adult syno. petricola?

how many do you have and do you have any calvus also?

Sounds like I should plan a trip down there :-)

If anyone returns a fish for eating cichlid fry, I want to know about it! Can acommodate up to 14" fish no problem. Thanks! If I can't find something in the next couple of months, I'll be talking to you about those Calvus (or maybe Comps!)- I had some success with them before, but sad...

Or hey, can I buy about 20 Calvus? I'd just let them eat the fry and let the fish eventually die out. I put my Champsochromis in with them but he's a wimp and the Vics continue to breed!
I wouldn't mind having a Tang. tank at the end of it all either.

Sure, I understand. I'll try Craigslist or something ? I suppose I could kill them if that's what is recommended in this case. I have never sold or traded these but alas that vendor years ago had many to offer. I just hate stuff like this! I'll call in a couple days - I'm on the road for business 8)

I bought the original half dozen many years ago at the annual ACA convention. They were sold to me as nyererei. Funny thing is, I have kept NO other vics EVER and the 6 fry I purchased grew out two types of male colorings. Some are classic nyererei with blazing reds, and others are all dark blue wit...
