get rid of the cichlids

if you keep mature Malawi cichlids at 90 degrees for 3 months
you'll probably only have 1 cichlid left

try gouramis and swordtails
they like it hot...
you can also try low tech a.c. ...
blow a window fan in all night
then turn it around and blow it out all day

90...ouch

to humans... cichlid breeding looks a lot like cichlid fighting... the fish will often circle each other, lip lock, and waggle fins at each other...I do a pretty good impression, but it's kind of hard to describe until you've seen it... mating usually takes around 15 minutes... the female will pick ...

we're expecting chillers on Wednesday, but they are expensive $550-$850 each... Try to get the school to leave the a.c. on in your room, set the a.c. at 77 degress F. also....lower the water level in the tank so you get a little splashing ...open the glass tops...and put a strong fan in front of the...

Any of the Malawis can handle changes of any kind...South American Cichlids and Tanganyikan cichlids not so much. Guppys should do well...natives of course...white clouds...almost anything... In the event of massive overheating (and this is true for your indoor tanks too) a 90% water change with pro...

My tropheus have black spots on their sides. It doesn't seem to be a fatal condition or anything, but I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to the cause. I was reading through various forums that it might be as a result of too much spirulina in their diet, WHATTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO ! but that...

yeh... it's kind of a problem... I had a long talk with Town of Medway Water Dept. Manager. Other town water departments may use similar methods. I was surprised to learn they very rarely use chlorine, the main two additives they use are phosphate with calcium. The 2 are harmless to people and pets ...

6 sm-med cichlids in a 40 gallon is NOT overstocked. However 60 watts of light on for 12 hours a day on only a 40 gallon tank with only a couple of Java fern may be alot of the problem. You may be over-lit for the conditions. The cichlids you mention don't eat plants so you might want to add some sw...
