Yeah it kinda surprised me too. They are very cool fish and other than the one I lost shortly after getting them seem to be doing very well but they seem to hang more middle to low. I might try adding a few more if you still have them in stock to see if the additional numbers get them in gear! I am ...

Ned, Hello, hope all is well. Its been a month or two since I've been down to the store...I've got another stocking question for you. Two actually. Currently running a 40G breeder, with the following stock: 7 x Neolamprologus multifasciatus and a couple of fry (shellies) 5 x Juvenile altolamprologus...

Yep - Got that all sorted out. Tank is actually filled. One quick question - any recommendation on which side of the Penn Plax Cascade to adjust the flow rate? Is it better to do it on the intake or the return? I'm guessing the return so as not to create too much drag on the motor. The 1000 is defin...

Thanks Ned,

I ended up grabbing a piece of 3/4 inch plywood and painted it, which I'll put under the stand to make sure it has good contact all around and I'll just deal with the slight unlevelness of the water level. Thanks!

Hi Ned, It probably wouldn't be a weekend if I didn't ask a question :) So, got the 40 gallon breeder in place, where I want it, stand and hood look awesome. My newest problem is that from the front of the pine cabinet to the back of the pine cabinet, there is about a 1/4 inch slope in my floor. The...

so potentially if I wanted to do 7 multi's, 8 paracyps, 4 comps and 2 julies, I'd be OK?

Thanks,

Ned, One more question on this. Can you make some recommendations on stocking for this tank regarding numbers? Current stocking is: 7 lamp. multifaciatus 7 chela danios I am looking to add some number of: paracyprichromis nigripinnis Altolamprologus compressiceps Kipili Black or Altolamprologus comp...

Well, this didn't take long LOL. I setup my 20g Long about 4 months ago and my wife really loved it. Due to some construction in the kitchen area, we had to move the tank to another room and now that everything is done, we're going to be moving it back. My wife asked me the other day if we could get...

LOL. LOL. So, rather than wait, I just went and ran a test on some tap water. Unless the water is coming out of my tap with .075 - 1.0 PPM Ammonia in it, I think its the test. It must not be metering the drops properly. (and if it is, I better call the EPA!!! LOL). Any suggestions on a more accurate...

Thanks. I don't clean my filter pads at all :) I just open up the filter about once a month to make sure its not gonna get clogged with any sand etc. Good idea on testing the tap water. Its a sera test so I assumed it was accurate, but I'll give that a shot this evening when I do a water change. Tha...

Ned, Got a quick question for you (somewhat of an amateur question). I've currently got a 20G long with 7 n. multifasciatus, 7 orange chela danios, 2 nerite snails and some mts snails. I'm fighting what I would deem a 'slight' ammonia problem with the tank up and running for about 4 months now. I'm ...

Yeah I know, busy couple weeks of work and the ammonia is spiked a bit right now (1.5ppm) so I figure I will let it do it's thing while I wait for the fish. :)
